Kew Baptist Church is very excited to announce that we will be sending a short-term mission team to Arua, Uganda in late 2026. While there are still plenty of details to organise, here's what you need to know so far!

What is Global Exposure?

Global Exposure is a learning experience with a strong focus on awareness-raising. Short-Term teams engage in cultural activities and possibly specific projects (e.g. English teaching) that connect with and support long-term mission strategies. Global Exposure is not about “doing” (e.g. building projects) but observing and learning. Teams are encouraged to ask questions, explore cultures, experience intercultural mission and reflect deeply on their experiences. 

Global Xposure is about: 

• Encountering God 
• Growing your heart and mind for God’s world 
• Growing in Christlikeness in the context of missional community 
• Expressing the Acts 1:8 calling of the local church 
• Enabling the discovery of gifts and abilities 
• Engaging with the vision, impact and approach of long-term partner organisations.

Trip information:

Destination: Arua, Uganda
Travel Period: October-November 2026
Trip Duration: 2-3 weeks
Projected Cost: $5000-$6000 per person
Host organisation: Sunflower Ministries
 

Much more information will be available soon, but for now we're looking to hear from people that might be interested in a trip like this! We are looking for people with an interest in cross-cultural missions or ministry; people that are wanting to grow deeper in their relationship with the Lord; people that are able to travel off the beaten path; people that are willing to actively engage with God in the area of finances; people that are willing to contribute to the healthy functioning of their mission team; and people that are willing to serve the team and serve the needy in Africa.
